W.Bruford was founded in 1886. The original W M Bruford Ltd building was situated in Terminus Road, Eastbourne.

1943
During World War II, enemy action on February 7th, caused damage to the prominent building and resulted in the death of 15 people, with several other casualties.

Internal damaged caused by the 1943 bombing.

1944
Following the bombing, a temporary store was set up to allow trading to continue.

1957
In 1957, the shop was completely rebuilt following the bombing years before.

1981
W.Bruford relocated to a beautiful new premises on Cornfield Road, Eastbourne.

1998
The Cornfield Road store was rebuilt with new shop front features including curved glass windows.

2009
In 2009, we open Inspired by Brufords in Eastbourne Arndale Centre. Home to some of the hottest fashion branded jewellery including PANDORA, Links of London, Thomas Sabo & Hot Diamonds.

2014
In November 2014, we opened a PANDORA concept store, also in the Arndale Centre, Eastbourne.

2017
In 2017, we rebranded our Arndale Centre store to bring it back under the W.Bruford banner, ready for some exciting changes in 2018 and beyond.

2019
In November 2019 we celebrated the launch of our W.Bruford flagship store as part of the newly developed The Beacon, in the heart of Eastbourne town centre. With a dedicated Rolex in-store showroom, along with luxury brands including Breitling, Longines, TAG Heuer, TUDOR and Gucci. The existing Cornfield Road store remains open, specialising in our bridal, diamond and pre-owed jewellery alongside our after sales department.

Here at W.Bruford we are very proud of the history our business has in Eastbourne, and after 40 years in our distinctive Cornfield Road premises, in 2022, it’s time for a change… But don’t panic, we’re not going too far!
Following the challenges of 2020/21, we have been lucky enough to secure the freehold of number 10 Cornfield Road. Situated just across the road from our current store, this iconic building has been a landmark in Eastbourne for over 100 years, and will soon become home to our new and preowned jewellery collections, alongside our bespoke jewellery design service, bridal room and champagne bar.
