Kicking Into Gear: Introducing The Breitling Top Time Deus Limited Edition Timepiece

Celebrating having the freedom to explore the world your way, at your pace, Breitling have today announced an exciting partnership with Australian lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina - who are also the inspiration behind the new Breitling Top Time Deus Limited Edition timepiece. Not just for bikers, boarders, surfers and digital nomads, this is a watch for dynamic people of action, purpose & style, who live and love an adventurous life.

And in its first four weeks, the Breitling Top Time Limited Edition watch is available exclusively at selected stockists - including us here at W.Bruford - before it hits the rest of the Breitling global retail network.

Whenever Adventure Beckons

Co-designed with Deus Ex-Machina, the Top Time Deus chronograph is a nod to Breitling's original 1960s edition & a tribute to the nomad spirit. With the first Top Time having a clear mission to suit the needs of 'young and active professionals' with a range of 'ultra-modern' chronographs, the retro vibe of today's edition has an enduring appeal. It's not about keeping time, but rather expanding it whenever adventure beckons.

Bold yet classy, this new version sports a racing-themed calfskin leather strap and silver dial which displays yellow and orange details, squircle-shaped chronograph counters with the Deus logo and its adage "In benzin veritas" - offset in white on it's black tachymeter scale. The back of its 41mm stainless steel case features iconic Deus artwork of a retro-looking motorcyclist in full flight, designed by Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell.

Powered by the Breitling Caliber 23 automatic movement, with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, the quirkiest detail of the Breitling Top Time Deus watch comes in the form of a lightning bolt shape chronograph hand.

And just like lightning, you've got to be fast as only 1,500 models have been produced.

Meet The Deus Squad

Roaring into Australia's cultural consciousness in 2006, with some neatly customised motorcycles and a quaint notion that doing something is more fun than just owning something, Deus Ex Machina (god from the machine) is a step bigger than a brand: it's a culture with an openness and enthusiasm that strikes a chord with people wherever they are.

'The Deus philosophy recalls an era before the various pursuits of fun - motorcycling, surfing, skateboarding, whatever - were marketed into fundamentalist factions. All are welcomed under the Deus roof," says founder Dare Jennings.

And anyway, who says you have to pick just one pursuit?

Californian Forrest Minchinton, who is passionate about surfboards, as well as motorcycles, is a prime example. "It's about a life well ridden, and if you can stop time while keeping time, all the better" he says, as part of the triumvirate of Breitling's new Deus Squad - which also includes Hawaiian competitive surfer Sierra Lerback and French motorcycle engineer and designer Jeremy Tagand.

All three have been involved with Deus Ex Machina for years and are now a part of its rugged and fearless DNA.Breitling is thrilled to have them on board for the launch of a timepiece that expresses their no-limited approach to life.

The Deus Swank Rally

As part of this adventurous new partnership, Breitling is now also Official Timekeeper of the Deus Swanky Rally - the epic motorcycle championship celebrating vintage bikes in diverse locations around the world including Italy, France, Australia and Bali.
