Bremont introduces Terra Nova, a stunning new collection of field watches.
Bremont introduces the Terra Nova field watch collection, referencing and inspired by military pocket watches of the early 20th century.
Styled and meticulously crafted, Terra Nova includes all the hallmarks of these original timepieces, capturing their rugged elegance, practicality, simplicity and essential functionality, reinterpreted for the 21st century.
Featuring a contemporary, geometrical cushion case, elevated through the use of 904L stainless steel, and finished with a combination of brushed and polished texturing for a unique and iconic wristwatch, the watch's dial features oversized numerals cut in full-block Super-Luminova® for increased legibility in low light conditions. The Super-Luminova® application is continued across the indexes on the broken railroad minute track and vintage inspired hands, whilst the closed case back is engraved with a unique design featuring a charted map of the world and the words 'Terra Nova'.
The oversized crown combines functionality and crafted elegance, directly referencing field watches from an era where gloved hands needed to operate the crown with accuracy. The crown is further enhanced through the use of Bremont's new logo 'The Wayfinder', reinforcing the brand's passion for adventure and exploration.
Unique to the Terra Nova collection is a new quick release bracelet crafted in 904L steel and finished in a combination of brushed and polished facets, which mirror the outer radius of the Terra Nova cushion case. Curved bars are repeated through the length of the strap creating a high level of articulation which ensures enhanced fluidity and great comfort to the wearer.
The Terra Nova collection is available is available in 3 case sizes with increasing functionality. A 38mm two-hander, a 40.5mm iteration both with date function or with a rotating compass bezel, power reserve indicator, date and small seconds. Finally, a 42.5mm steel chronograph completes the core collection.
The 38mm is Terra Nova in its purest form. 38mm is a first for Bremont, in recognition of the emerging trend towards smaller case sizes. The unique modern geometric cushion case with its low profile and shortened lugs have been crafted to sit perfectly on the wrist with great balance and presence.
Vertical gradient dials are featured across all Terra Nova references as an iconic design detail. The Terra Nova collection NATO straps have been meticulously woven on 18th century Jacquard French looms, yarn dyed to ensure exceptional colour fastness and durability, secured with an engraved steel buckle and self-gripping fastenings. These straps are incredibly light, extremely strong and supremely comfortable.
Terra Nova 40.5 Turning Bezel Power Reserve
A bi-directional compass bezel is included on the 40.5mm Terra Nova turning bezel, power reserve featuring the cardinal signs, with a small seconds sub dial included as a direct reference to the heritage of vintage field watches.
The Bremont Terra Nova 42.5mm Chronograph is a two counter chronograph featuring a polished ceramic bi-directional compass bezel.
Bremont CEO Davide Cerrato comments: "With Terra Nova we have focused on designing and creating a perfect field watch. Meticulously researching and referencing early 20th century military pockets watches to bring a true sense of provenance in the visual and functional language. This is then reinterpreted for the 21st century with the launch of this elegant and contemporary design. We believe that the Terra Nova begins a new chapter for Bremont which will see the collection become an iconic reference for the brand for many years to come."
