Breitling Launch Exclusive Aerospace Red Arrows Special Edition
Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling, renowned as the leading supplier of aviation watches and official sponsor of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, announce the launch of the Breitling Aerospace Red Arrows Special Edition.
Limited to 350 pieces worldwide, two of which are currently available right here at W.Bruford in Eastbourne, the debut continues Breitling's series of exclusive collaborations with the Royal Air Force, as the only luxury watch branded granted permission to feature the distinctive emblems of its celebrated aerobatic team. The design brings together Breitling's greatest strengths in military pilot watches - innovative technology and design efficiency, a robust and light titanium case and a sleek retro aesthetic - for all round wearability.
Fast Jets, Fast Times
Breitling's historical partnership with the Royal Air Force that dates back to the 1930s, when the brand's precision on board chronographs were supplied to RAF aircraft to ensure precise calculations of distance and fuel during the most challenging flying conditions.
Since 1965, The Royal Air Force Red Arrows have earned a reputation as the world's premier aerobatic display tea, with their combination of speed, agility and precision flying in Hawk fast-jets in close formation manoeuvres. Naturally, Breitling's collaboration with the Red Arrows has continued for over 30 years and today, the pilots wear Breitling chronographs built to ensure accuracy and reliability under the most demanding physical conditions, reaching up to 7G on any given sortie.
Aerospace, The Original Aviator's Watch
In 1985, Breitling launched the Aerospace as one of the most innovative designs of its time - a multifunction chronograph equipped with state-of-the-art Swiss technology. The easy-to-use and easy-to-wear timepiece was quickly regarded as a quintessential tool for fast-jet pilots owing to its advanced control system, with crown activated functionality providing unprecedented simplicity of use. The titanium case, a favourite metal for aviators, combining maximum strength and lightness sealed the watch's fate - It's easy to see why when a pilot gets their wings, they often get a Breitling Aerospace to mark the occasion and wear with them on their airborne adventures.
A Watch To Show Your True Colours
The new Breitling Aerospace Red Arrows Edition references the original Aerospace with a powerful and technical-sleek retro style, completed with the Red Arrow trademark "Diamond Nine" flight formation on the blue dial, while the Eclat crest is engraved on the caseback. equipped with an officially chronometer-certified SuperQuartz™ calibre movement, it is distinguished by a user-friendly control system with crown-activated functions including 1/100th of a second chronograph, countdown timer, sexond time zone, alarm, audible time signal (minute repeater), calendar, and a backlighted LCD digital display - a concentration of power and sophistication designed to accompany all day or night flights.
Manager Director of Breitling UK Gavin Murphy said: "We are proud that Breitling and the Red Arrows have one of the longest running relationships between a watch brand and a military display team. A relationship built on shared values, precision timing and excellence and a trust in our designs and functionality, as the pilots continue to wear our watches whilst testing the limits in their breath-taking displays. This Aerospace – elevated with Red Arrows insignia - is a long-requested edition that we have great pleasure in making available to the public for the first time."
Squadron Leader Tom Bould, Red 1 and Team Leader of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, said: "Timing is critical to the world-class, dynamic displays and colourful flypasts synonymous with the Red Arrows. The team has to arrive at the right place, at the right time anywhere around the world, to the second – often with millions watching in-person or many more enjoying the performances via global media coverage. This precision and attention-to-detail are hallmarks shared by the Red Arrows and Breitling. But our mutual dedication and focus goes further than that. We’re pleased to have such a longstanding relationship with another organisation that understands how to combine this unrelenting requirement for precision with creativity, innovation and style."
