A Tribute To An Eternal Legend: Introducing the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Senna Special Edition

Continuing to pay a vibrant tribute to its ambassador, and much loved  motor racing legend, Ayrton Senna, TAG Heuer introduces the latest Special Edition piece in its Formula 1 collection.

Considered one of the best drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna embodies the quest for excellence and performance, and 28 years after his untimely death, he continues to be one of the most iconic and recognised drivers of all time. Fast, brilliant and fearless, the Brazilian driver never stopped pushing himself beyond his limits.

With the collaboration between TAG Heuer and Senna beginning in 1988, over the course of his career he continued to redefine the word "drive" by breaking many a racing record, and at the time dominated Formula 1, becoming world champion in 1988, 1989 and 1991.

Paying homage to Ayrton's legacy, TAG Heuer continues its quest to create the perfect Formula 1 watch, and one the legendary driver would have loved to wear on his wrist.

With its bold design and its nods to Ayrton's original watch, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Senna Special Edition perfectly illustrates the luxury Swiss watch brand's continued admiration for the illustrious driver and celebrates his lasting influence on the sport.

For this new edition, TAG Heuer designer's worked - in collaboration with the Senna Foundation - specifically with the colour red, a reference to Ayrton Senna's original watch, which also has touches of red tint in the dial. In line with the design codes of the Senna Foundation, the watch showcases a very elegant mix of red, anthracite and black.

Red lacquer is present in the 2 o'clock pusher, in the crown and at 12 o'clock in the double S - Ayrton's iconic logo brand. The sub-dials are also adorned with red touches, and the sport elegant design of the model is further accentuated with azure finishing and 6 o'clock sub-dial customised with Senna logo.

Also featuring an ultra-resistant black ceramic bezel, with number 400 engraving as a reference to the symbolic 400 km/h speed never been reached in Formula 1, this TAG Heuer Senna Special Edition watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet, inspired by the first TAG Heuer chronograph watch worn by Senna and its famous S/EL bracelet, complete with folding clasp and racing-suit extension.

Finally, the model is equipped with an automatic Calibre 16 movement, which is protected by a stainless steel screw-down caseback, and engraved with the driver's iconic helmet alongside "Senna Special Edition".
